The Eden Street Learning Centre is a targeted education intervention designed to address the severe learning gaps affecting children and adult learners in the New Green community of Manchester, Jamaica. This program strengthens education outcomes through an innovative, accessible solution designed to help learners catch up and move forward confidently. Your support helps children and adults regain lost learning and build brighter futures.
WHY THIS PROJECT
MATTERS
- Persistent Learning Gaps
Many students are advancing through school without mastering foundational literacy and numeracy skills.
- Limited Access to Academic Support
Families in underserved communities often lack access to structured tutoring, technology, and personalized learning support.
- Education Shapes Economic Futures
Without strong academic foundations, students face reduced employment opportunities and long-term earning potential.
HOW THE LEARNING CENTRE WORKS
Eden Street will implement the Classroom in a Box solution, an offline digital learning platform designed for communities with limited or unreliable internet access.
This self-contained system allows students to connect through a local WIFI signal and access preloaded, curriculum-aligned content tailored to their individual learning needs.
Up to 200 learners can access the system simultaneously, ensuring broad reach and flexibility.
The Learning Centre will initially serve 25 students, providing tools, academic support, and structured guidance to help them progress to their assigned grade levels
What Makes This Program Different
Offline Access for Every Learner
The Classroom in a Box system allows students to access curriculum-aligned content without internet connectivity, ensuring uninterrupted learning in underserved communities.
Personalized Learning Pathways
Each student follows a tailored learning journey based on their academic level, helping them close gaps and progress with measurable improvement.
Technology with Human Support
Digital tools are paired with structured guidance, monitoring, and academic mentorship to ensure students stay engaged and achieve real outcomes.
Experienced Leadership and Local Oversight
The program is led by a trained community development specialist and supported by qualified administrative and educational personnel. Strong oversight ensures high standards, consistent attendance, proper use of equipment, and measurable learning outcomes.
Where necessary, teaching staff will be vetted and supplemented to ensure students receive the quality instruction they need to succeed

HOW YOU CAN HELP
The Learning Centre is a social intervention that relies on donor support to operate. Strong financial and administrative systems ensure transparency, accountability, and responsible stewardship of every contribution.
Your donation helps fund equipment, qualified staff, learning materials, and operational costs for a three-year cohort of learners. By giving, you support academic recovery, strengthen adult literacy, and invest in a more resilient community.
Together, we can help learners move forward with confidence.
